An elderly couple and a teenage female were transported to area hospitals after police said their vehicles collided around 10:45 a.m. by the Nampa JCPenney store.
Nampa police Sgt. Rob Wiggins said the couple, riding a silver pickup, were headed west on Stamm Lane and the 19-year-old female, driving a blue Dodge Neon, was driving south on Happy Valley Road.
"It's unknown who ran a red light, but someone did, and the two vehicles collided at the intersection," Wiggins said.
The teen driver was transported to a Boise hospital and the elderly couple were transported to Mercy Medical Center. All three people are from Nampa.
The collision hindered southbound traffic and police had to use extrication measures in the collision.
Police are trying to make contact with witnesses to determine exactly what happened. The crash is still under investigation and no citations have been issued.
